A breath that compresses and expands, a jolt that pervades and animates a free body, immersed in a suspended atmosphere: this is the trailer for the twenty-first edition of the Far East Film Festival, the largest European showcase dedicated to East Asian cinema.

The main challenge was to design a clip that, starting from the visuals created by Roberto Rosolin for the festival’s graphics, could develop its own strength and identity.

We used animation to bring the figures to life, applying a rig - essentially a digital skeleton - to each body to control movement, combined with a mix of 2D and 3D deformations to give each image more dynamism and dimensionality. In the editing phase, we chose to play with contrast, creating an alternation between fullness and emptiness, between speed and stillness.

The trailer isn’t driven by a narrative, but by a pulsing energy—the same energy that animates and moves the festival’s audience.
